Your library lives only on this device. Export a backup, or move it to your next device.
Where your data lives. BookBloom saves everything β your books, quotes, streaks, all of it β directly in this browser, on this device. There's no account and nothing is sent to any server. That keeps it fully private, but it also means only this browser knows about your library.
You will lose your library if you:
Exporting a backup protects you from all of that β think of it as your safety net.
β Back up regularly. Tap Export library above. It downloads a small .json file β save it to a cloud drive, email it to yourself, or keep it in a notes app. Do this after adding new books, and always right before clearing your browser or updating your phone.
β‘ Restore anywhere. Open this same BookBloom file (here or on a new device/browser), come to Settings, and tap Import (replace). Choose your saved .json file and your whole library reappears exactly as it was.
β’ Combine two libraries. Been using BookBloom in two places? Use Import (merge) instead β it adds any books from the file that aren't already in your current library. Nothing gets deleted or duplicated.
A quick safety note: Exporting never changes anything β it only reads your data. Import (replace) is the one to be careful with, since it overwrites your current library. Export a fresh backup first if you're ever unsure.

BookBloom comes pre-loaded with sample books so you can explore every feature. When you're ready, clear them out and start your own library β and you can always bring the demo back later.
